Omaha, Nebraska - July 26, 2008. I am sure many of you have heard of the urban legend about placing a penny in your mouth to interfere with the breath test device. Juan Briceno heard a different urban legend. Briceno was sitting in the breath test room waiting his turn to blow into the machine. Briceno spied a bottle of Wite-Out on the breath test tech’s desk. He reached out with his hand and grabbed the bottle of correction fluid. Then Briceno drank the contents of the bottle. Absolutely disgusting. Read more

Karl Solid Sentenced Under Washington’s Felony DUI Law

King County, Washington - July 25, 2008. Karl Solid, 45, is a resident of Bothell, Washington and was sentenced under Washington State’s felony DUI law. Judge Pro Tem Anthony Wartnik had the honor of giving Solid 5 years of prison life. That is the maximum sentence for a class C felony.
A fifth conviction triggers Washington’s felony DUI law. Solid’s last arrest yielded a blood alcohol level of 0.28. That is over three times Washington’s DUI legal limit of 0.08. This was Solid’s ninth DUI conviciton since 1991. Thank goodness this menace is off the streets for a few years.

Los Angeles, California - July 27, 2008. A few weeks ago I saw reports of the rising young Hollywood star Shia LaBeouf being busted for smoking in non-smoking areas. He also had a few other odd run-ins with authority. I began to wonder when he would shamefully make an appearance on this blog. It did not take long for Shia to graduate from smoking cigarettes in non-smoking zones to being busted for DUI. Read more

Jacksonville, Florida. Jacksonville Jaguars’ Richard Collier was set to do battle over his alleged drunk driving incident. Trial was about to begin when Collier decided to enter a no contest plea instead. Courts love a no contest plea instead of a drawn out trial, and Collier is pleased the ordeal is past him as well.

NFL Running Back Cedric Benson Out of Control

Austin, Texas. This NFL off season has been a big party for Cedric Benson, but his recent adventures landed him on unemployment. The Chicago Bears released Benson today after his second brush with the law. On May 5th, Benson was arrested for boating under the influence and resisting arrest near Austin, Texas.
This past weekend Benson was arrested for DUI in Austin, Texas. Police observed Benson drive through a red light which Benson contends was yellow. Read more
Oakland Raider Great Ken Stabler Arrested for DUI

Robertson, Alabama. NFL legend Ken Stabler, 62, can add his name a second time to the growing infamous list of athletes busted for DUI. Stabler had a distinguished football career playing for the New Orleans Saints, Houston Oilers and the Oakland Raiders. Stabler secured a Super Bowl championship for the Raiders in 1977.
The police are being very protective of Stabler’s privacy and have not revealed any facts surrounding the arrest. Read more
WWE Spirit Squad Mikey Busted for DUI in Florida

June 1, 2008 - Tampa , Florida. Police stopped and arrested WWE star Michael Brendli, 25, for DUI. Brendli is known as Mikey a member of the Spirit Squad, and being a former WWE World Tag Team Champion. During the investigation Mikey provided a breath test reading of 0.091 and 0.094. The Florida DUI legal limit is 0.08.
