August 30, 2007 – Quebec, Canada. Remi Wiliam Comeau, arrested for Vehicular Homicide last Tuesday, was beaten while in jail. On Tuesday Remi left a strip club and headed home. Remi collided with two vehicles and apparently continued on his way home. As Remi reached Lady Aberdeen Bridge he struck Marie-Helene Primeau, a 17 year old girl.
Marie-Helene was riding her bicycle at the time and died as a result of the accident. Remi has two prior convictions for Driving Under the Influence. This recent DUI created great media attention with the death of such a young woman. Apparently, inmates do not like drunk drivers and Remi was pummeled enough to require medical attention.
Since this is his third DUI, and this one involved a death, Remi most likely will have many opportunities to be beaten while in jail over the next few years.
