Suffolk, Virginia. The Suffolk Peanut Fest is gearing up for their 31st year celebrating peanuts. Last year the festival featured an unorthodox ride; The Drunken Helicopter. Ronald John Davis Jr., 51, offered rides in his helicopter for $10.00. The pilot from Florida was a hit on Friday and Saturday, but things got a little hairy on Sunday.
The ace loaded up his helicopter with children and took to the sky. Authorities became concerned with Ronald’s flying when he hovered a mere 20 feet above motorists. Officers were also distressed watching the chopper race to a steep climb which some claim could have torn the rotors off the aircraft. When police contacted Ronald they quickly detected an odor of intoxicants and requested a breath test. Ronald provided a 0.07 breath alcohol reading. The legal limit is 0.04 for flying in Virginia.
Fast forward nearly a year and Ronald entered a guilty plea to felony child abuse, and a misdemeanor charge of reckless handling of an aircraft. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for November 13th.

All in all things aren’t that bad in Suffolk Va However this pilot really makes us look like idiots! I still like living in the area though. The history, still a lot of real estate. I hope they throw the book at this guy though!
