Detroit Tigers’ Dontrelle Willis Pleas Guilty to Reckless

Miami, Florida. All-Star starting pitcher Dontrelle Willis of the Detroit Tigers has settled his criminal DUI charge resulting from an arrest back in December of 2006. This incident occurred when Dontrelle was pitching for the Florida Marlins.
Dontrelle agreed to plea guilty to Reckless Driving pursuant to the prosecutors amending the original charge of DUI to the lesser charge. The court imposed the following sanctions against Dontrelle for the Reckless Driving conviction:
- 6 months probation
- Complete 50 hours of community service
- Pay $761.00 in fines and fees
The plea agreement also prevented a license suspension.
