Denver, Colorado - April 14, 2008. The Denver Nuggets’ All-Star Carmelo Anthony was arrested for DUI. Police allegedly witnessed Carmelo weaving and failing to dim his headlights.
According to Detective Sharon Hahn, Melo did not successfully complete the field sobriety tests. Melo was then arrested and transported to the police station for further processing. During the investigation Melo did submit to a blood test to determine his blood alcohol content.
This is a disappointing story given that Melo was such a fantastic addition to the NBA. He is charming, loves the game and is extraordinarily talented. Melo does get kudos for immediately issuing a statement of regret, “I want to apologize to my family, fans and the Denver Nuggets organization for my actions early Monday morning. As a leader, I know they expect a lot from me and I regret putting myself in this situation. I also want to apologize to my teammates for the distraction this has caused.”
However, how much more can Melo be forgiven for his out of the court antics. Melo was busted in 2004 for possession of marijuana. A friend later took responsibility claiming ownership of the drugs. Melo also has been linked to promoting urban youth not to cooperate with law enforcement.
We also cannot forget his participation in the massive throw down between the New York Knicks and Denver Nuggets. Melo received a 15 game suspension.

FSTs are a trick to let cops arrest ANYONE.
99% of everybody given an FST fails the FST… http://fieldsobrietytest.info/raw.html
