Pernik, Bulgaria. Drunk driving is not limited just to the United States. Judge Violeta Licheva, of Bulgaria, is being charged with DUI resulting in death and for hit and run.
Judge Licheva allegedly caused the death of Yordan Velev, 61, last December. She was maneuvering around stopped vehicles when the incident occurred. Police allege the judge waited for an hour before reporting in person that she saw a dead body on the side of the road.
During the contact the police noticed Judge Licheva to be impaired. Her blood alcohol test revealed a result of 5,98 permilles. Not sure how that translates to US blood alcohol readings. Any Bulgarian attorneys out there willing to educate some Americans?

This sounds like a tragic accident. I wish people would stop drinking while driving.
