Eve Pleads No Contest to DUI

Los Angeles, California - June 28, 2007. Rap star Eve, Jihan Jeffers, had her attorney enter a plea of no contest to her DUI charge. This is similar to a guilty plea in states that do not have no contest pleas.
On April 26, Eve was Driving Under the Influence when she smashed her gold Maserati into a median on Hollywood Boulevard. Judges consider the facts of the case in addition to past criminal history when determining a sentence. That might explain why Eve received 45 days of electronic home monitoring. Eve’s EHM device is equipped with a breath alcohol device. If her monitoring device detects alcohol during the 45 days Eve can expect further punishment.
