Freshman Forward Herb Pope Arrested for DUI

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - December 28, 2007. The Aggies of New Mexico State suspended Herb Pope indefinitely. Pope is a freshman forward for the Aggies’ basketball team.
Pope was home on Friday night when police came across his vehicle. Apparently, Pope was unconscious while his vehicle remained running and in a northbound lane on a highway. When police finally woke Pope his vehicle moved forward into a police car. Pope refused to provide a blood or urine test, and was then taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
Pope was charged with a litany of crimes including DUI, underage drinking, and reckless endangerment. Herb Pope’s next court appearance is set for January 8, 2008.
